I am just wondering as to when can we expect the first CTP for Linq for Entities? And also would the final release be avaliable on .NET ver 2.0/3.0 or just the "Orcas" timeframe .NET (version 3.5) ?? Thanks

    Rishi..

    Rishi,

The ADO.NET team is targeting August 2006 for the first Linq to Entities CTP.  It is still early enough in the cycle that we’re not yet committing publicly to a particular release of the framework.  Once we’ve had a chance to get some feedback from a broad set of customers through a CTP or two we’ll be in a position to be more precise on release timing.  In the meantime, we’re very excited to start sharing more details with you on what we believe will be a significant advancement in the way developers work with data.  Keep an eye on http://msdn.microsoft.com/data to track this effort and let us know what you think of it.
