WebApplication project always prompt for checkout when it is open first time or whne it is run
WebApplication project always prompt for checkout when it is run. What i see in the VSS that .csproj.vspscc is also viewed in the repository.
I think .vspscc should not be present in the Visual source safe and it should be deleted from repositry.[I may be tottaly wrong]
Please let me know what to do?

- Hi Kamran,
You get prompt for project file checkout means your opening the solution or running the web application project will change the project file. You may try Diff to see what the changes are.
The prompt behavior is specified at Tools->Options->Source Control->Environment->Checked-in item behavior On Edit.
Thanks.

Hi Kamran,
I'm not sure what editing Visual Studio is trying to do. You can verify it by comparing the two versions of the project file.
Thanks.

http://www.scmsoftwareconfigurationmanagement.com- Thanks Catherine,
Although that clears the detail about the above mentioned file but it didn't give any detail about my issue.[That is why I get prompt for project file checkout when open the solution or runing the web application project first time]

- Yes Catherine,
My thinking is also that when opneing the project first time or runing it is trying to edit the project file. But i am clueless why it is wanting to do that and what editing it is trying to do?
I am using VS2005 Webapplication project. Hi Kamran,
I'm not sure what editing Visual Studio is trying to do. You can verify it by comparing the two versions of the project file.
Thanks.

Kamran Shahid Senior Software Engineer/Analyst (MCP,MCAD,MCSD.NET,MCTS,MCPD.net[web]) - <DevelopmentServerPort>1893</DevelopmentServerPort> is changing.
I think it is because of project setting which is using dynamic port
Kamran Shahid Senior Software Engineer/Analyst (MCP,MCAD,MCSD.NET,MCTS,MCPD.net[web]) - Glad to hear that you found the cause.
