Visual studio 2010 not work on windows 8

Question

I have installed vs 2010 on windows 8 customer preview.

But it does not work

Please give me some advise to resolve this problem

Hi t_manh, thanks for the screenshot, what version of VS 2010 have you installed? Did you apply VS 2010 SP1 as well?

Have you tried repairing VS 2010 from the Control Panel?

Have you tried uninstalling VS 2010, and re-installing it again? You can do this by checking this link out and following the instructions there. You can try using the /FULL command as well.

hi systemx. I have repaired it but I till got this error.

I can not start my program, so I can not update to SP1.

this version is VS 2010 ultimate

Hi t_manh, thanks for the information. I have actually installed a fresh copy of Windows 8 CP along with VS 2010, and VS 2010 is able to load fine without any errors.

Could you please try launching VS 2010 via the command line with the /Log switch using the "Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010)" by typing "devenv /log"?

After you see the error, please paste the output of ActivityLog.xml here which you can find from this path "%APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\". You can access that path by pasting that path into "Run".
