Neural Network Timeout issue - on SSIS R2

Question

SQL SERVER 2008 R2. Other algorithms runs well while using SSIS Data mining task. But NN times out every 20000 rows with error -"XML for analysis services timed out...." I thought this bug was fixed way before.

I've tried setting up SSIS- Tools - Business intelligence designers to both "0" and "6000". But, neighter works. Is there an AS server properties that needs to be changed as well?

Hi rok1, what is the build number of your SQL Server 2008 R2?

I would check if Neural Network Algorithm is enabled on your server, and would try to increase External Command Timeout and External Connection timeout if it does:

Sorry for my late response. Neural network is enabled in AS properties. And my build number is 10.50.2500.0

Rok I believe your problem is not in the sevrer but in the Analysis Services connection from your SSIS package. The BIDS Connection Timeout parameter from Visual Studio does not apply to the connections created for SSIS packages. You should be able to modify the connection timeout properties from SSIS's Connection Editor UI Hope this helps bogdan
