document library item does not update 'date modified'

Question

Hi,

I have a application created using sharepoint 2007 OOB feature.

Problem here is that 'date Modified' field for document library Item is not getting updated. I checked the version history of this item and there exists various versions of this item.

Any help is appreciable.

I have fixed this issue by adding new date/time column to the list.
