Here's an interesting one: We have a WSS 3.0 with a site that runs beautifully. Reporting services is working fantastically as well with the site.
IIS and WSS are installed on a "front end" sytem with SQL 2005 on a "back end". Reporting services is in integrated mode.
However, we added another sharepoint site, configured ssl like the first site, assigned multiple ip address to nic/publishing rules in the firewall, etc.
I went into Alternate access mappings and entered the default site as the "https://external.domainname.com
and the site was accessable via the internet.
However, this broke the reporting services...I can no longer run the reports.
So I changed the Alternate access mappings back to
http://servername:port number and reporting services works, however the additional site cannot (of course) be access via the web.
I have checked aam settings in sharepoint, we tried several combos of "ideas", thoughts, etc.
Has anybody run accross this before?
The wss sites in IIS are using different ip address for port 80 and 443
The two sites are hosted on the same front end server.
Any ideas on why reporting services gets 'the Error' message would be appreciated!
I believe the error is this famous one:
Error
An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. PS I understand about the "default" zone settings...
