Online Chat Facility integration With MOSS sites

Question

Hi,
is there any possibility to integrate Online chat in Share point Server sites,by lookking presence of the user?

if so kindly help on this task by providing the related Informtion abt this

It is possible, however would require a bit of integration with the presence API that is utilized to make the "green dot" light up.

Within SharePoint's configuration there is a setting to enable online presence - however this relies on the ActiveX controls that are looking for the extended schema values of the local user's AD profile.  Believe this is turned on by default. (I think...)

If you're looking for something that integrates with Jabber, AIM, etc, you're going to have to develop something similar in nature...

Within Central Admin, you can go to "Application Management", under the "SharePoint Web Application Management" section, click on "Web Application General Settings".  From there, you can choose the web application that you'd like to choose - then select whether or not you'd like presence enabled in the "Person Name Smart Tag and Presence Settings".

By default, the setting is turned on.

The direct page would be:

http://<servername>:<port>/_admin/vsgeneralsettings.aspx

Do you actually have Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 or Live Communications Server 2003/2005 running to provide presence information to the web browser?  If not you won't see their presence.

I have OCS 07 running
but i am unable to see the Green Presence
