I am running Excel 2007 , SQL Server Analysis Service 2005 ,MOSS 2007

If i make a pivot table from a spreadsheet I can expand/collapse rows for all dimensions.

If I use SSAS Cube dimensions in the pivot table: Product - > Month, Branch -> Month and BU-Month

it will not display expand/collapse + /- button in excel sheet

    Is this because of?

    1. I have defined the cube wrong?

    2. There is a setting in excel regarding cubes regarding expand/collapse I have not seen?

    3. Expand/collapse is not possible in a cube in the way described above?

    Please respond

    Thanks

Is most likely not a cube issue.  First off modifity the excel service web part and make sure (All PivotTable Interactivity) check box is checked.  If it is checked it is most likely a issue with the design of the pivot table

    Dear David Lewis ,
    Thank you for replaying,

I have tried two 2005 SQL Analysis server   servers one is running on 32 bit and 64 bit for same Cube   . Excel servicers   Pivot table expand/collapse buttons are work properly in 32 bit but 64 bit server it’s not display table expand/collapse node buttons.

Is there any setting for enable drilling down   & drilling up for OLAP servicers in server ?

I am not sure.  the functionality should work the same regardless of what bit the operating system is.  I dont know of a setting other then the one I already told you.  If your cube is drillable and you set up your pivot table the correct way, you check the check box you should be all set.
