Exchange 2007 - Emails is marked as read when using IMAP4 EXAMINE command

Question

There seems to be a bug in Exchange server 2007 when using IMAP4 and EXAMINE command to read emails.
After executing the EXAMINE command and then the FETCH command, the email being fetched is marked as read.

Is it a bug in Exchange server 2007 or is there a setting which cause this behaviour?
