The project type is not supported by this installation.

Question

I am receiving the the following series of error messges when I try to open a project in my Work Space

1. Cannot open the .... file
    The project type is not supported by this installation.
Upon clicking ok then a series of messages and dkalog boxes.

Following is installed on my PC
Intel P-IV 2.0 GHz

Windoes XP Procession Service Pack 3
ADO.NET Entity Framework Entity 1.0
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008
Microsoft .NET Framwork 2.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framwork 3.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framwork 2.5 SP1
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Suite
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer
Microsoft Silverlight 2.0

Zia,

Are you opening the project from within Visual Studio or are you clicking on the file in Windows Explorer.  I've seen this issue before when opening from Windows Explorer.
