Form uploading

iIuploaded an XML document through form upload control,

now i want to check the XML file for one string (wether it's there ar not in the file)without opening it & also i want to update it in a button click pls provide me the steps to achieve thisin an ASPX ...

Using Open XML is probably the best way to go. It has its own forum. In the sticky threads there, there are links to articles which will help you more, specific to which application you're targeting (Word, Excel...)
