Just search on the forums for certification as a keyword and you´ll find many recommendations. Best thing to learn about SQL Server is having experience in your daily work.

You can find details on all of the current SQL Server certifications here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/certifications.mspx

There are four levels (with further specialization in the lower levels):

    • Technology Specialist
      • Implementation and Maintenance
      • Database Development
      • Business Intelligence
    • IT Professional
      • Database Administrator
      • Database Developer
      • Business Intelligence Developer
    • Certified Master
    • Certified Architect

Each certification has a good list of prepatory materials for each exam.

Jens is absolutely correct. There is no substitute for Real World Work™ with SQL Server if you want to get a certified for doing database-oriented things.
