Does SSMA make any modifications to the Oracle database?

Question

Does the SSMA utility make any changes at all to the Oracle database? We are planning to use SSMA to copy the data from Oracle to SQL server when we cut over to the new SQL server database so we would like to point it directly at the live Oracle database. We want to make sure that it does not make any changes to the Oracle db.

Data on Oracle databases are not updated during the migration process. You can confirm for yourself examining every step in the migration process as explained on the following link:
