Cannot load AutoCAD drawings into Visio

Question

I'm using a new version of Visio which offers 'native' import support for DWX and DXF file formats (from AutoCAD) but the files I'm trying to load - of either format - throw up errors reporting "invalid format or corrupt file".

 

I'm using the \Insert\CAD Drawing option (and I've also tried various other routes including \Insert\Picture etc but same error).

 

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong, and how I can get round this issue?
