IIS and IIS Express

Question

Hi,

I have reviewed the suggested posts and did not find what I want.

I have downloed and installed IIS Express as adviced in the post "VS2010 IIS 7.5 Use Local IIS Web server => "Unable to start ...". But I do not know how to configure it, start it, and use it. I do not know how to achieve these tasks with IIS either.

In the Administration Tools of the Control Panel, I have two IIS Managers, one for IIS and the other one for IIS 6.0. The first one was installed with Windows 7 Professional.

I cannot see any manager for IIS Express. Is that normal? How do I activate IIS Express? How do I start it so I can use it for test pages in test websites?

Again, if this post is not in the right place, please tell me where I should post it.

I would suggest, that you have a look there and ask the question in the forums there.

Thank you for your answer. I did find some useful information at http://iis.net. I will keep it in my favorites.

The way to access the IIS Manager is:

Open the IIS Manager by clicking Start > Run and typing inetmgr.

Hi,

Is that supposed to work with IIS 7.5 Express to?

I just get "windows cannot find "inetmgr" ... "

-Edit- I went into "Web platform installer" and added the fault configuration. Should this solve it?
