Installing Server 2008x64 on MBR Disk

    Question

  • Hello,
This is the os on my mechine -
    1 - SUSE 11
    2 - RH5.3
    3 - RH4.7
    4 - Win2k3x86
    5 - Win2k3x64
Now im trying to install windows 2008x64 on a new partition, when i get to the window to select the partition to install it on, i cant press "NEXT", and i have the messege - "windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks".

On the other server i successfully did FIXMBR and it helps but on this server it doesnt..
    can you help me please?

I had the same issue while installing server 2008 r2 on a dell T110 server.....without deleting other partitions or loosing any data on other drivers you can solve this problem... Troubleshooting steps will be similar for all windows having this issue..  simply I followed these steps using gparted and solved my problem.. for anyone having the similar issue, all steps i have documented here..
