UDP server connect problem

    Question

  • I am trying to connect a UDP server on a XP box to a UDP client on another XP box in the same network.  I can only get the server to connect if I use 0.0.0.0 for the server address when I start the server program.  I will have mulitple servers talking to one client.  Each server will have the same port numbers for certain functions.  That is why I need to use the IP address from each box to the client.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Normally the UDP server listens on a particular IP Address and port number. The client will try to send data to server. The client will not establish a connection with server in UDP. The connection is established only in TCP mode.

If you need more support, then please do an "ipconfig" in command line in both the machines and paste the result here.
