How To Use parameter On Bing Image Search Root URI

    Question

  • I have read all created thread about how to use parameters on Bing Image Search API URI, but I am still confused about how to implement/ assign all of the available parameters. I don't know what is the valid sequence on putting each parameter.

    My question:

    1. Where can I find the list of available parameters? I know only some, eg. Query, Market, skip, ImageFilters and Adult.

    2. How is the correct sequence to put the parameters? eg. Query -> Market -> skip ->ImageFilters

Any help will be highly appreciated

    Best Regards

    Ari

  • Hi Ari,

    Thanks for posting!

    >>1. Where can I find the list of available parameters? I know only some, eg. Query, Market, skip, ImageFilters and Adult.

Base on my experience," Query","Market" and "ImageFilters" are serarch option. But "skip" is a method name. I suggest you could get the search option description via this page (https://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/5BA839F1-12CE-4CCE-BF57-A49D98D29A44#schema ) .

    >>2. How is the correct sequence to put the parameters? eg. Query -> Market -> skip ->ImageFilters

From your description, I think you may like this code sample( http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsazure/How-to-use-bing-search-API-4c8b287e). Please download it and research it.

    Hope it helps!

  • Hi Ari,

Base on my experience, the sequence of parameters is not related the search result. you could test those different sequence of parameters query in your IE browser. And You may need input your customer ID and key in IE browser. And then your input your URL and view the search result.

    Please try it.

    Thanks!

  • Hi...

Thank you very much for helping me, that's just awesome.

For the second question, I just want to know like this:

    https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/Search/v1/Image/Query='blabla'&Market='en-Us'&Adult='Off'&ImageFIlters='Size:Medium'

Will that url still working if we change it like this (I move the market to another place)?

    https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/Search/v1/Image/Query='blabla'&Adult='Off'&ImageFIlters='Size:Medium'&Market='en-Us'&$skip=50&$top=10

    Thanks in advance

    Best Regards Ari
