Bing Search API

    Question

  • Hello Bing API experts,

I'm part of a team in Ireland for a start-up company. Our product will likely rely on a search API. I've been reading through various limitations and acceptable usage for the Bing Search API, and have some questions.

We would like to be able to show only one aspect of the result, such as the url (DisplayUrl). None of the other information, such as the Description or Title will be visible when the results show up after a query entry, but the user has access to this data if they hover or somehow 'expand' the result. Is this something we are allowed to do?

If that is acceptable, could we then edit the DisplayUrl from something like "http://www.imdb.com/123" to "imdb" when it is shown to users? Our aim is not to mislead, but rather to group results from the same domain/organisation (especially if a well known domain like imdb or wikipedia) under one heading. So in the example above, "imdb" may have 3 results within it, and when expanded, all details of each result will be shown to users.

    Thank you,
    Richard

Base on my experience, You could get the URL from the Bing Search result. When Bing search respond the data, we could get a XML file which included the image list and image information and url.

About this need, I think it may need your handle the result to meet. The result only include the image information. How to show those to customer, it depend on our need.

And this is a research code sample, please refer to:

If I am misunderstanding, please let me know.
