Moving query to another workbook

    Question

  • Hello
I built a query with Data Explorer and now I would like to move it to another workbook.
Unfortunately, I lost the data explorer Query pane and the ability to refresh the data or edit the query..
Is there any way of moving/copy queries through different workbooks instead of recreate them ?
a workaround could be to easily duplicate the script into another query.
    thanks in advance

  • Hi Stephane,

If you still had access to the Query Editor (via the Filter & Shape button), you should be able to go into the Advanced Query Editing mode (clicking the icon on the right end of the formula bar) and copy/paste the contents into a new blank query on a different workbook.

Since you don't seem to have access to the query anymore, I think the only way for you to get to the source is to click "Send a Frown" and include document formulas. This will generate an email from which you can copy the query source and paste on a new query.

    Thanks,
    M.

    Thanks for your help

Is there a way to past all the query steps in one click ?

  • Hi,

You can paste all query steps at once. But you will have to do this for each query within the workbook.

    Thanks,
    M.
