Behavior<T> still missing in WinRT with Win 8.1 and VS 2013 Preview?

Answers

  • It was mentioned during one of the Build 2013 presentations that behaviors are coming later, as an SDK on top of the platform - http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2013/3-321

  • Ha yes, just to clarify for anyone reading this: around min 29 of http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2013/3-321, Unni mentions a few things:

    • Behaviors not supported in VS 2013 Preview, will be available in RTM.
    • Although the functionality is in the SDK, we will just have to install VS 2013 RTM and behaviors will be included out of the box.

He also goes into the reasons why behaviors were not implemented until now, including missing APIs in WinRT and a consistent experience for C++ and native developers.
