Setup project issue -- can't download prerequisites from the specified location

Answers

  • Hi Wingo,

When you create a setup project, you need to set prerequisites correctly to make sure that the installing can continue. On the prerequisites dialog, you need to add an address where the installing software can download the prerequisites when you select "Downloading prerequisites from following location". The address is a directory which contains all the prerequisites need to be installed earlier, but not a path of one of the prerequisites.

I have another way to solve your problem without modify the prerequisites setting below:

    1.       Right click the project, select “View -> Launch Conditions”.

    2.       Right click “.Net Framework” node.

    3.       In the properties window, modify the property InstallUrl, set its value to your address:"http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/6/7/567758a3-759e-473e-bf8f-52154438565a/dotnetfx.exe”.

You can also add the dotnetfx.exe file to The Application Folder and select “Download prerequisites from the same location as my application” to achieve your goal. You can get more help by this link:

Let me know if this helps.
