I was hoping notificaitons would be included in CTP2 (As mentioned in various blogs and threads) as without them it makes the local cache limited. This was the one change that would've allowed true comparisons against the other flavours of distributed cache solutions in the wild.
Why implement performance improvements now when people are after functionality?
Will notifications be included in the next release and when would we expect to see this?
Is there an EAP program for Velocity? Have tried going through various MS channels to find out without much luck. We're already part of the Silverlight EAP so were hoping to get on-board with velocity as well as it certainly could be a solution to one of our medium term requirements.
I agree with the arguments you are making and we had internally debated features Vs performance goals for CTP2. In the end we had internal partners that were planning on going live with the CTP2 bits that required us to meet certain performance and stress goals.
That said we have prioritized Notifications for the next CTP. With respect to EAP program please write to me at
(seshuad at microsoft dot com) and I will have the right folks get in touch with you.
