I have struck another problem in my tabbed browsing adventures and now need to develop a way to get the icon that appears in IE (siteroot/favicon.ico) and add it to an image list.
I looked in the webbrowser namespace but could only find WebBrowser1.Document.Images(index). Would the favicon be loocated there or would i need to download the favicon from the website first?
When you right click in IE the contextmenu is different depending where you click. I have a contextmenu ready but i dont know how to make it appear ONLY when links a right clicked or text is selected as i need to make links open in new tab and text copy and paste.
When the user clicks anywhere else, i.e background or image the context menu cannott show.
I am able to copy text of a website but i dont know how to paste it somewhere else.
Sorry about all these questions,
Are you using IE5 or 6?
I used to have those favicons available to me, but now that I am on Windows XP MCE edition 2005, which has IE6.x, I do not see any favicons no matter what is in my favorites menu or not. Netscape 8.x no longer has them, either. Only Firefox (of the browsers I have installed) still gives me the ability to display them.
If you are selecting, Cntl-C-ing on text in a webpage, you need to paste it into Word or your favorite text editor. Then, if you put in all the HTML tags that are required for a webpage and save the file as an .htm or .html, you will then be able to publish a page with that copied text. The only way to paste information into your browser would be inside of a <textarea> block such as someone's comment box, otherwise, if you wish to see it with your browser, you need to do the HTML stuff above and publish it to your own website if you have one.
I am using IE6,
I just re-read question 3 - it wasnt how it was meant to be. i meant when a user using my program copies text using the appropriate vb command what is the command to paste it and how will the program know if its in a textbox?
