MPFProj - How to hide files from the Solution Explorer

    Question

  • I developed CustomProject based on MPFProj.
My project template contains files that I want to hide from Solution Explorer. (Assume that All the files with specific extension should be hidden)
However those files logically must be included in the project system
How can I do it easily?
    Thanks,

  • Hi Aviram,

The visibility of items in the solution explorer, is a function of the project system. The VSHPROPID_FirstVisibleChild, VSHPROPID_NextVisibleChild, and VSHPROPID_IsHiddenItem properties implemented in on the items in your project hierarchy implementation, would be resonsible for this functionality.

These are not properties that you would set external to the project system though. I haven't checked to see if these particular properties are supported in the MPFProj code base. I suspect that it is not. Meaning, you would have to modify the project to add support for these particular properties.

    Sincerely,
