Microsoft .NET Framework - Unhandled exception has...

    Question

  • So I installed a Windows Update today, and afterwards I'm getting this pop-up error immediately upon booting up Windows 7 Home. I get 3 or 4 of them actually. If I click "Continue," they just pop right back up. I've tried the information found here (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/microsoftnet-framework-unhandled-exception/ca695cad-468f-40e9-84ae-80b4cd63b5e3 ) but that doesn't seem to help me at all. Someone else recommended using a registry cleaner tool (Wise Registry Cleaner), but that didn't help either.

    I have also run the .NET Framework Setup Verification found here:  http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx .  The .NET Framework 4 and Client verified fine.

    I've run a full Microsoft Security Essentials scan as well as a full Malware Bytes scan and found nothing.

    Anyone else got any ideas?

    Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

    application or computer (machine.config) must have the

    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

    The application must also be compiled with debugging

    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>

    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  • Hi Marino V1,

    Did you also try to verify the .NET Framework 2.0 - 3.5 SP1? Did it also report verify succeed? Based on your description, if you can verify both .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and 4.0, I think your .NET Framework should be OK.

    Based on my experience, this issue is caused by the applications which will start automaticly with Windows corrupted. In order to find which application caused this issue, please follow the steps mentioned in this article: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Additionally, you mentioned this issue occurs after applying a .NET Framework updates, would you please go to Control Panel >> Programs and features >> Installed Updates, and check what is the KB number of the update? You may also look at the Control Panel >> System and Security >> Windows Update >> View update history as well.

    If there are any updates, please feel free to let me know.

    Best Regards,
