No Debug>Modules window in Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM

    Question

  •

    Hi,

I cannot access the Debug>Modules window in my VS:

Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM

Is it not available in this version? Can I somehow get it without making a reinstall?

  • Which Sku of VS did you install (std, pro, vsts, express)? If it is express, then I believe there is no modules window available. This could also be caused by your profile. Try following the Import / Export Settings wizard (under tools) and reset your settings to general.

  • thanks this was helpful to me.   Tools -> Import/Export Settings->Reset All Current Settings (don't worry you get a chance to save current settings or cancel)->General Development Settings (not Visual C# which is what you think you'd want :)

  • Isn't there an option somewhere to reenable this specific setting? I don't want to reset everything just to get 1 menu item back. For me, (Visual Studio 2005) I can't even use the shortcut chord (ctrl+d, m) to pull up the window, but ctrl+alt + U works.

  • This may be late but should help to those for whom it is not.

You can always add or remove "commands" to menu bars and toolbars. Use Tools-Customize. For this specific case, do this:

    VisualStudio 2008:

Tools - Customize - Commands tab - Rearrance Commands... - Menu Bar : Debug | Windows - Add... - Categories : Debug - Commands : Modules and Okay
