TFS error TF30207 when creating new Team Project

    Question

  • When one of our Project Collection Administrators attempt to create a new Team project, she got a TFS error 30207. The log indicates the error is due to permission denied issue. However, I don't know which account should have create function permission, the TFS service account or the Project Collection Administrator? TFS service account is already has db_owner role.

  • Hi DeanCoder,

    Thanks for your post.

Try to use another TFS Collection admin account to create Team Project on another client, will occur the same issue?

And I suggest you upgrade your VS 2010 and TFS 2010 both to VS 2010 SP1 and TFS 2010 SP1.

  • Use the TFSAdmin account which has Admin level access to TFS and db_owner/creator level access in SQL(Data Tier) side. Make sure you run Visual Studio Team Explorer as "Run as Administrator".

  • Upgrading to TFS 2010 SP1 resolved the problem.

    Thanks
