  • Hello,

I would like to install VS2013 Pro on a notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium (not sure about any SP). There is an important part of the installer log

  • Hi Richard,

The error info is not clear for me. Have you ever installed Win 7 SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=5842 ? This component is required before your installation of VS.

If you are confused about your Windows Version, what about use this tool winver.exe from your OS? Or you can refer to your Computer->Property and check your OS version?

If the error is indeed related to your OS version, SP1 may be the reason. If you've already installed sp1, please share your full logs here, please use  http://aka.ms/vscollect  to gather the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to https://skydrive.live.com/  and share the link here.
