Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled Exception

    Question

  • While proceeding with my usual computer usage, this error came up. :
    "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
    The system cannot find the file specified"
    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.
    For example:
    <configuration>
        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>
    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Answers

  • What program(s) were running when the exception was thrown?

    The key word in "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..." is APPLICATION. The exception was not caused by the .NET Framework, but by the application that uses it.

    Did you click Continue when the error appeared? What happened?

    If you can identify the program that threw the exception, I would suggest reinstalling it.

    To check the integrity of .NET Frameworks installed on your computer, use this tool:

  • Hi C-Lhoon,

    Thank you for your post.

    From the log, your problem is not caused by .NET Framework setup but related to the application you used. In my opinion, Mattyjward are experiencing a same issue as you, because imstrayicon.MainForm.ReadRegistry() also occurred on your log. If you can find Dell Support Centre, I recommend you go to DELL Support to ask for helps: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524.aspx

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
