Convert .NET web service to J2EE Web Service

    Question

  • Hi

Are there any tools/process available to convert a .net webservice to j2ee web service.

One of my project requires this migration.

would be easy if there are any opensource or Java/Sun supported tools available for this task.

Please let me know of any resources.

    Thanks

  • Do you need the java service to have the same *contract* or the same *implementation* as the .Net?

If you just want the contract you can take the wsdl from the .Net service and use java utilities to create a java stub. you would then need to implement the java service by yourself.

If you want the same implementation you actually want to convert .net code to java code. I guess there might be some commercial tools for that but it is a hard problem.

  • There are various soap stacks in Java (WSIT, Axis2, CXF), I suggest you ask this in their forums.

Usually you have a utility wsdl2java.exe (similar to wsdl.exe or svcutil.exe in .net).

google for "convert c# to java" and check if you find anything useful - I have not used this.

  • So i understand we need to convert the Contract and the implementation differently.

Any java utilities to help create java stub from the wsdl ?

Are there any open source tools for converting .net code to java code?

    Thanks
