Microsoft.NET Framework Error.

    Question

  • Hi,

    I have been receiving this error that pops up every single time i turn on my laptop. It goes away when i click " Close ", " Continue " or the " X " button but i'm worried that there's something wrong since it has been quite some time. I'm really clueless about all these errors and stuff.

    The Error :

    " Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

    The remote server returned and error: (404) Not Found. "

    There was a drop-down box and these are the details :

    See the end of this message for details on invoking

    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************

    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

    application or computer (machine.config) must have the

    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

    The application must also be compiled with debugging

    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>

        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  • You have a startup program that is causing the error.

    To identify the culprit and solve the problem, you need to go through the list of startup (or autostart) programs installed on your system. How you do that varies depending on your Windows version.

    Disable the startup programs, one at a time, then restart your system. When you restart and the error does not appear, the last disabled startup program is the problem.

    You should reinstall or repair that program. If doing that does not solve the problem, you should contact the program publisher's technical support for assistance.

  • Hi Magellanic,

    Thank you for your post.

    I agree with MVP. The root cause of your problem is related to an application or a service which automatically run when you boot up. To detect which application or service lead this error, I find an article you can referred to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    If I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to let me know.
