Having issues with 2 Net Framework and MS Visual C++ updates.
Have tried all fixes. None of the mentioned will un-install. Can't fix, remove, or update them. When running windows update and choosing the 3 critical updates to install, I get 2 failures and one success. However the next time I run update, all three are reported as needed critical updates ... I've been working on this for a few months now on and off.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. All other updates and the rest of the system works fine.
I've also tried a few 3rd party fixes as well as some MS recommended utilities. In every case I get a report that the repair or fix failed.
First time here and am not sure this is the right forum. Please advise. Thanks .. Rich
Welcome to MSDN forum.
I understand that you may need to uninstall your Update and reinstall them. In addition, there is a forum which is more related to Windows Update :
You can post your question there and you may find some related issue. But I will try my best to help you here.
First of all, you should uninstall them. May I ask does “None of the mentioned will uninstall” means you can’t remove them from control panel? Could you please refer to this case : http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vssetup/thread/630b4e5b-15e6-420d-9b14-0845ca92d305
It is one case of mine and you can try this solution to uninstall them completely.
Then we need to install them. From you description, I’m sorry but I can’t find the reason(We need some more information like error codes and installation logs). So could you please show me your installation logs. Collect logs with this:
After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Please upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like SkyDrive, and post the link here. Then I can help you check your real problem.
(PS: Before you run this tool. Please clean your %temp% folder and make sure you have reinstalled your updates)
