Thanks for your post.
According to the information you have provided, there are several details I would like to clarify with you:
· Did you have installed any version of Visual Studio 2008 Express?
Here are some helpful suggestions and information:
Base on your error information, I guess you have not installed any version of Visual Studio 2008, so I advise you to install it firstly.
Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition (90-day Trial): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=83c3a1ec-ed72-4a79-8961-25635db0192b&displaylang=en
After you have installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional Trial, you could download the Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 full from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=27673c47-b3b5-4c67-bd99-84e525b5ce61&displaylang=en
You also could install the Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions with SP1 directly.
Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions with SP1: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=3254c868-bcb9-412c-95c6-d100c872ec60 (This version has already update to SP1,so you do not be required to install the Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1.)
If the installation still failed, please collect the installation log files from “%temp%” folder with the Log Collection Tool : http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2008/05/09/visual-studio-and-net-log-collection-utility.aspx
If I have any misunderstood anything, please feel free to let me know.
