Office interop dll

    Question

  • Hi All,

           We are using Office 2007 interop dlls in Application.
           If any user upgrade from Office to higher versions do I need to add new references of Interop dlls?

           We are using word Interop dlls. Can any one help?

  • Hi all, I got an answer saying Interops are forward compatable。So, no need to change the Interop dlls.

  • Unless the interface changes you should be okay.  If it changes, then binary compatibility will be affected and you will need to regenerate.  The interop is just a proxy for the COM objects/interfaces with the ID's included.  Is this application running on each person's desktop or on a server?
