Unable to Branch a label from top of directory tree

    Question

  •

    Hi, All,

I ran into an issue today.

I have a directory tree.  Under the tree, about 28 files have a label.  The tree have 3-4 levels and several thousand files.

When I click on the top-level folder and select Branch, I give my branch name and I "Branch From Version"  by Label and I give my label name.

What I get is an error:

    ---------------------------
    Microsoft Visual Studio
    ---------------------------
No items match $/Sales - Affinity/Oracle/TCA in the label AFFINITY-R2-OWB-PORTING-PATCH-SIT-80225.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

I have verified that the label is correct and that I can find all labeled files if I try to Find by Label.

Any ideas?  It's *really* painful branching individual files.  :-)

    Thanks in Advance!

    Rich

  • Like the error message says, the branch root must be included in the label.  Doublecheck this is the case.
