Lightswitch app will not open. Error: Cannot Start Application

    Question

  • Hi.  I created a business app for myself a few months ago using LS.  I've been using it pretty frequently.  The other day I went to go in and add data, and received the error box "Cannot Start Application:  Application cannot be started.  Contact the application vendor", and the Details button info is outlined below.  What is going on here?  I even attempted to install the program on my other computer and even copied the DB to the same path, but that doesn't even open either.

    Details error message

  • Hi, you can cut the folder "2.0" to another place.

  • I have seen a couple of posts on this, Are you using the click once depliyment of the application. If so clear out the app directory inside your users folder and redeploy it.

    %userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps

  • Hi Glenn.  Thanks for the reply!  Ok, so I navigated to that folder, but not sure what I want to delete.  Would hate to delete something by mistake!  Only one folder in the App folder, and that is 2.0.  Inside that one is Data and QMYHE27Z.BJ3, then another folder, then a bunch of folders, some of which look to have names in common with my app.  What do you think?
