Visual Studio File Explorer AddOn

    Question

  • Hello,

Does anyone knows a File Explorer AddOn to use with Visual Studio 2010?

I think this is a useful and missing feature in all Visual Studio versions.

    Thank You,
    Miguel

  • Hello,

I work with VS 2008 and VS 2010 to develop mostly ASP.NET MVC Web Applications and sometimes WPF applications.

However, there are times where I work in a project that has only HTML, CSS or JS files.

And there are no such projects in VS. Usually I use Notepad ++ for this but I would prefer to use VS.

Another situation where is useful is when I am working on a project and I need to see a few files from other projects without the need to open that projects in other VS.

    I found two addons:

    http://www.ssware.com/vsexplorer/vsexplorer.htm

    and:

    http://www.mindscape.co.nz/blog/index.php/2008/08/13/free-visual-studio-file-explorer-add-in/

I think this would be really useful to integrate in VS. Don't you think?

    Thank You,

    Miguel

  • Check out this website, it might be what you're looking for:

    http://www.slickedit.com/products/slickedit-gadgets

The gadget includes editor gadget, file explorer, SLOC report, Command Spy, Data Object Analyser.
Haven't tried it for myself though.
