So you are trying to install a visual c++ 2005 built MFC application to windows 2000, there are two aspects that need to be aware of:

    1. Applications build with Visual C++ 2005 are manifest-enabled by default.

    2. Windows 2000 does not support manifest-based deployment.

I would use dependencies walker(depends.exe) to check which DLLs that this application depends on(mfc80.dll, msvcr80.dll,etc.), and add these DLLs to your $(windir)\system32 folder.

    hope it helps

  • We are going to need to know more about the error before we can answer.
