To change the Microsoft account listed as owner of your Visual Studio Online (VSO) account, or to rename your vanity URL, please
follow these steps:
name (e.g. XYZ.VisualStudio.com)
1. Log in using the Microsoft account which owns your VSO account (only the owner can do this), connect to the settings section of your Control Panel: https://<YOUR ACCOUNT>.VisualStudio.com/_admin/_home/settings
2. In the Advanced administration tasks section, click CHANGE next to your current account URL.
3. Carefully review the information in the window which opens, and in the linked KB article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793597). When ready, enter your new Account URL and then click “Save
Changes”. It will take around 30 sec for the account rename to complete.
If the new owner's Microsoft account is less than 24 hours old you should wait a day for the information to propagate through our systems before attempting an ownership change.
Only the current owner can change the owner, so when you follow the process below be sure you are logged in as the current VSO account owner. You can see who owns your VSO account by checking https://<YourCollection>.visualstudio.com/_admin/_home/settings.
To change Team Foundation Service account owner:
Log into your
control panel as the current owner (https://<YourCollection>.visualstudio.com/_admin#path=DefaultCollection&_a=node).
Add the new owner’s Microsoft account to the Project Collection Admins group (via the “Manage collection security and group membership” link).
Return to top-level of Control Panel and then click the SETTINGS tab (pictured below), where you will see an Account Owner drop-down. Change the owner in this drop-down and
