How to print from OPOS connected with other PC

    Question

  • Hi all,

We  have a problem we want to print from OPOS printer EPSON Tm-88IV, which is coonected to another pc in network. There is no installation permited on the printer machine by the client.

Is there any way by which my application (windows service/ Windows application build with VS 2005) will be able to print  from any machine over the network?

  • This wont be possible using an OPOS driver on the networked computer.

  • This has been asked before: unless the OPOS driver or Service Object was writen for network access, remote printing is not supported. A normal Windows printer driver offers network sharing capablity, but it doesn't support UPOS features and capability.

One idea (and it is just an idea) is to create a network service using POS for .NET running in the computer with the printer. The services waits and accepts printer data over sockets from other computers and then prints via the OPOS driver.

  • Hi sean,

    Thanks for your valuable suggestion,

Sean we are not able to deploy any application or service on the computer where printer is attached.

There is any way to direct print from another network machine or access printer.
