Can I talk to Lotus Notes with C#?

    Question

  • I'd like to display some data in my app from a lotus notes database...anyone ever done that before?

  •  I guess you will have to use OleDb Jet 4.0 engine for that. There is pletny of code and connection strings around. Just search MSDN for Jet.4, even this forum.

  • Jet 4.0 talks to Lotus Notes?  Really?  Hmmmmm, doesn't sound right to me.  But hey what do I know. 

    I did talk to lotus notes once in javaland, using some form of thier distributed com interface.  I can't remember it's name something like iiop, or riiop or something like that.

  • ahhhhha! I found it. The DIIOP allowed me to use Java to communicate with Lotus Notes.  I don't know if this is what's needed for C# but, it will be somehting similar if it's not this architecture.  I'm thinking because C# is Java there wouldn't really be too much difference in the support needed for this.  I can't believe Lotus wouldn't have somehting for you.
