When looking at a test plan, you have a set of test cases on the right. You can assign a user to a testcase by right clicking on the test case, and selecting "Assign testers for selected tests". This shows the selected user under the "testers" column
like expected. However, this doesn't seem to change the "assigned to" field of the detail, and you cannot select a blank user (only domain accounts) from the drop down.
So how do I unassign testers? We've had someone leave our team, and we want to unassign the testcases, so that the 'tester' is blank, and the cases float up to the top.
Yes, you are right. Once you have assigned test case to a particular user,
you cannot select a blank user (only domain accounts) from the drop down. However a work around could be you can assigned that test cases to yourself and later you can assigned back to available tester for that point of time. You can put filter on Testers
column and get the appropriate test assigned to a particular tester.
Hope this will help you to resolve your query.
