  • Hello,

    I am keen to install Visual studio 2012 on windows 7 fire edition. Unfortunately I cann't install this. I am getting this error: The storage control block address is invalid. How can I solve this issue.

    The errror code 9 is ERROR_INVALID_BLOCK9 (0x9), which means "The storage control block address is invalid."  As the error indicates issue with storage control block, this could be an issue with Storage Controller/Tape Device/Media or the cable connecting the controller and the drive.
    Storage Controller: A type of hardware interface (IDE/SCSI) widely used to connect hard disks, CD-ROM's and tape drives .

    You are trying to install Visual Studio but failed with this error.

    If you are using a installer from a network path,

    Check if the network path specified while adding a package is correct. Else mention a valid network path. Try accessing the same path from the client machine by,

    Start --> Run --> (type the path here) and check if it is correct or not.

    In general, I recommend you download the ISO to your OS to install or try the web-installer.
