Visual Studio Test Professional 2013 activation key from MSDN is invalid

Answers

  • So guy I have found the trick. In my MSDN-via-MPN subsription there is VS Test profesional 2013 for download as well - I used a web installer. After installation (<2minutes) all my VS programs remained the same as after installing Premium, BUT the activation key for VS Test NOW WORKS !

  • Hi,

I suggest that you focus on MSDN Subscriptions Customer Service Centers: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa948875.aspx and select property approaches to consult your issue.

    Thanks,

  • I wrote them, I hope some solution will be found before 30day trial expires, otherwise I'll have to install VS2012 as well (which I would love to avoid on my fresh W8.1 machine).

  • Hi Jiri,

Maybe you could restart your machine, and reopen it, please also check your internet.

Since the question is a license issue, you could also call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in their locations: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/

Like Amanda’s suggestion, I think you also would get better way to support this product keys issue, if so, I will close this thread. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Have a nice day,

  • Nice trial - we all like T-shirts with "ahve you tried turn it off and on". No success.

  • So MSDN referenced me to MPN, while MPN insists on that it is MSDN licencing issue. I'll give it a relax for a week to escape this Kafka-castle trap.

  • I have Visual Studio Ultimate 2013.

I used the Key for Visual Studio Ultimate.

    Worked for me.

  • This does not work, since for Visual Studio 2013 (MPN), after I click on View Custome Key, I get "The product key is not embedded with Visual Studio 2013. When you launch the product, you must sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your MSDN subscription and your IDE will automatically activate. By signing, your IDE settings will sync across devices, and you can connect to online developer services." - in VS this really worked, but in fact there is no key.

  • We have the same problem. The Key for Test Manager 2013 from MSDN (MPN benefit) does not work.
Anyone got anything from MS yet?

    Thanks
    Michel

We are not talking about VS. VS does work. We are talking about Test Manager / Test Professional 2013.

We are talking about Test Manager / Test Professional. Not Visual Studio itself.

  • FYI - I have posted this to the MPN Partner forums:

    http://partnersupport.microsoft.com/en-us/mpnpartnermem/forum/mpnpartpq-mpnpmgold/microsoft-test-manager-2013-license-key-from-msdn/571dff2c-f82f-44fa-b07f-aedcac1700fe?tm=1383138486486

As MSDN help has refered me to them.

    Cheers

  • Did you ever hear back on a resolution to this?
    Monday, November 11, 2013 7:24 PM
  • I think the reply from MPN in the above mentioned link to the MPN Partner Forums is their final answer. To sum it up. You got to get hold of your local MSDN support.

I have not yet had the time to call them, but will do so before the trial expires.

  • Try this :
Disconnect from microsoft.com/msdn and then re-connect
    wait for 5 minutes
disconnect from VS2013, and then re-connect
    enjoy

  • I used my Visual Studio Premium Key (not the test professional key) and it I was able to activate Microsoft Test Manager. It was asking for a Test Professional Key.

  • Has this issue been resolved? I encountered the same problem on my VS Test Manager 2013 today.
