  • I am getting this error too.  It sounds pretty serious.  Can someone in Microsoft look at this because it is blocking installation of ADFS 2.0.

  • It looks like the ADFS 2.0 installer was updated in January to address Win2K8R2 and SP1 issues.  The version number of the installer has not changed, but the digital signature has.  Check your installer - if it was signed before October 28/2010, then you need to download a fresh installer.

  • I too received this error when installing the version from April 2010. Downloaded and installed the newest version (published 1/5/2011) corrected the issue, as Shan McArthur suggested.

  • where did you find the new version ? I have a 200 r2 SP server and I'm getting the "this installation requires server 2008 sp2" I downloaded ADFS 2.0 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=118c3588-9070-426a-b655-6cec0a92c10b&displaylang=en its dated 1/5//11 but the digital signature is

  • That is the correct url.  I clicked on your url, selected Continue, told it I was not going to register, then selected the Windows 2008 R2 download.  I then right-click on the downloaded file and select Properties.  I then flip to the Digital Signatures tab and the timestamp on the signature is Thursday October 28, 2010 5:13:28 PM.

  • I figured out your problem Kevin.  You downloaded the version for Windows 2008, not Windows 2008 R2.  The 2008 version is signed on April 22.  Please download the one with the following path:
    RTW\W2K8R2\amd64\AdfsSetup.exe

  • Good catch. This was the issue for me. I downloaded the 2008 version by mistake.

    Thank you.
