Encryption Symbols

    Question

  • Hi all,

    i have done some basic encryption using:

    - using System.Security.Cryptography;
    - Rijndael
    - and other code

    it works fines but my question is, when a string (or whatever) gets encrypted, is it possible that all characters/symbols can be used or is there a exhausted list? It is very important that I know whether an encrytped string used a ;(semi-colon) or not.

    Thanks and appreciated

  • Yeah, encrypted strings could contain any byte value.

  • Thanks for the answer,

    I'd assumed there may be at least one symbol that may not be used.  Well you know what they say about assumptions....
