Profiler not launching in VisualStudio 2012

    Question

  • Hello

When I am trying to profile a WIN32 console app, I am getting the message "The profiler was unable to start sampling with the specified configuration".  I have tried running my app first and attaching with same error message.

I am using VS 2012 Professional.

    Thanks

  • Hi wche,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.

Just to make this issue clearly, whether all apps have the same issue? For example, how about profiling a simple win forms app?

The profiler was unable to start sampling with the specified configuration

As Tarbush’s suggestion here, can you Profiler your application in Instrumentation mode? If you have other machine, you could try to profile it again, so we could make sure that whether it is related to the VS Environment. If possible, would you mind sharing us a simple app? So I could try to profile it in my machine, you could send it to jackzhai at Hotmail dot com.

If there's any concern, please feel free to let me know.

    Best Regards,
