I successfully installed an in place upgrade of Windows 8 over Windows 7 Pro, then Windows 8.1 Preview over the Windows 8. Now I would like to do a similar in place upgrade of Windows 8.1 Preview, Build 9431 to Windows 8.1 Build 9431 Enterprise.
I do all of my installs from an ISO on a USB drive on an X-64 desktop. Does anyone have a DO or DON'T, or BEWARE, like "you are going to lose all of your application installs." The few issues I have run into is leaving 8.1 in a Windows Update TOTAL AUTOMATIC condition, which really screwed up a few apps. I get much needed info from "Windows.old" And I live on a "C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Start Menu 8" which gives me a dynamite old Windows Desktop; I find the IObit a little better than Classic Shell.
Any info will be well appreciated!

The forum supports .Net Framework Setup and Servicing related issue. Your Issue isn't related to the forum.
I will move it off-topic.
Are you serious? Classic Shell is the best Start Menu to ever have existed. If you are not happy with its look, just get the Windows 8 optimized WinAero skin from http://winaero.com/blog/introducing-winaeros-exclusive-special-skin-pack-for-classic-shell/ The next beta of Classic Shell, 3.9.0 will be anyways exact copy of Windows 7 menu. Classic Shell has close to 10 million downloads.
