VB-to-VB.NET converter

    Question

  • Hi! Everybody. My boss Devil has given me Cool a new task of converting his old vb projects to new new .net projects. He Devil wants me Cool to convert both windows as well as web applications to the latest versions. As I am new to programming, I am having difficultly in converting the codes. Smile Can you guys help me out? Please let me know if there is any free VB6 to VB.Net Converter which can convert all code. And also let me know if there is any good way to manually convert VB6 code to VB.Net code. Thanks alot Yes !!!

  • Hi,

    you can just open the old VB6 projects with VB.NET. VB.NET will convert ( or better try to convert ) your old VB6 code to .NET. You will usually some errors about code that  couldn`t be converted and you then need to resolve the errors.
    A good way to convert VB6 to VB.Net manually is to learn the language and use it.

  • Don't waste time with converter. You'd better start from zero, with the basic analysis of the VB6 source.
    VB6 has an old 'way of think', that is very far from VB.Net one.

    The best way is to analyze VB6 source code, with the objective of recognize any possible 'class'. More the classes, easier the task is.
